The client is a professional entity operating in the energy and industrial sector, supporting critical operations and projects that require reliable procurement practices, strong vendor partnerships, and strict compliance with technical and safety standards.

The Buyer / Procurement Specialist manages end‑to‑end purchasing of materials, equipment, and services supporting upstream, midstream, or downstream operations. This role is responsible for vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, technical compliance, and optimizing cost, quality, and delivery schedules to minimize operational downtime and ensure business continuity.

Sourcing & Vendor Management
  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on quality, pricing, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable and consistent supply.
Purchasing Operations
  • Manage the full Purchase Request / Purchase Order (PR/PO) process from requisition to closure.
  • Monitor order status and inventory levels to avoid supply disruptions.
Negotiation & Contracting
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts for complex materials, equipment, and services.
  • Support cost‑saving initiatives while maintaining technical and operational requirements.
Logistics & Expediting
  • Coordinate with logistics and internal teams to ensure timely delivery to office, site, or field locations.
  • Track expediting activities and support warehouse or site inventory management.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all procured items comply with industry standards, technical specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain documentation to support audits and internal controls.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, projects, and operations teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve procurement‑related issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Industry Experience: Proven procurement experience in the oil & gas, energy, or petrochemical sector.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with specialized oil & gas equipment, materials, and service contracts.
  • Systems & Tools: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and solid MS Office proficiency.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong cost analysis, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities in fast‑paced environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
