NES Fircroft have partnered with a premier Oil & Gas operator to recruit a Project Controls Analyst (Drilling & Completions) based in the Brisbane CBD. This is an great opportunity for an early career Project Controls professional looking to build experience within a major upstream energy environment, supporting drilling, completions, and brownfields project activities across a large scale portfolio. This role will commence on a 12 month inital contract, working Monday to Friday in Brisbane CBD.
Working within a collaborative Project Services team, you will support cost control, forecasting, reporting, procurement processes, and transactional activities across a variety of operational and project scopes.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Control & Forecasting
• Assist with preparation and management of project budgets and AFEs
• Track costs against forecasts and perform variance analysis
• Support monthly forecasting activities and lifecycle cost reporting
• Analyse historical cost trends and project performance data
• Maintain cost books and contract rate information
• Provide weekly and monthly reporting support
Transactional & Financial Support
• Manage purchase requisitions and invoice workflows
• Support accruals and value of work done (VOWD) processes
• Coordinate invoice approvals and vendor communications
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and financial tracking
• Support procurement and accounts payable processes
• Maintain compliance with project procedures and approval processes
Stakeholder & Systems Support
• Work closely with drilling, completions, finance, procurement, and project teams
• Assist with continuous improvement of project controls systems and reporting tools
• Support delivery of accurate and timely project cost information
About You
• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong analytical and problem solving capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Proficient across Microsoft Office applications
• Team oriented with a collaborative approach
• Ability to adapt within a fast paced project environment
Preferred Experience
• Up to 5 years’ experience in project controls, finance, cost control, or project support roles
• Exposure to forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, or transactional support
• Experience supporting procurement and contracts functions
• Previous exposure to oil & gas, mining, energy, or major projects highly regarded
