Project Fabrication Management Engineer – Subsea Structures 
Location: Montigny-le-Bretonneux (France) + Onshore & Offshore missions
Start date: ASAP

Saipem is looking for a Project Fabrication Management Engineer to support fabrication activities for subsea structures within the Development Project. This is a hands-on, technical and coordination role interfacing daily with fabrication yards and multidisciplinary project teams.

🎯 Key Responsibilities As Project Fabrication Management Engineer, you will work autonomously under the supervision of the Fabrication Project Manager and collaborate daily with engineering, fabrication and project control teams. Your activities will include:

  • Managing and supervising fabrication of subsea structures (PLETs, PLEMs and associated systems).
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and fabrication packages.
  • Following material availability, MTOs, substitutions and related technical documentation.
  • Contributing to planning, reporting, and progress follow-up.
  • Assessing fabrication issues, analysing schedule impacts and proposing recovery actions.
  • Evaluating Site Technical Queries (STQs) and providing appropriate technical solutions.
  • Supporting NCR/MOC processes and participating in risk assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance with fabrication sequences, constructability requirements and industry codes.
  • Direct interface with Saipem E&P teams and fabrication yards.
Missions include:

  • Onshore: up to 1 month (non-renewable)
  • Offshore: up to 2 months (non-renewable)
    Visa & work permit handled by agency.
📌 Required Qualifications and Technical Skills
  • Engineering degree.
  • Strong experience in steel structures and piping fabrication.
  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings & specs.
  • Basic knowledge of welding (WPS, PQR, qualifications, NDT).
  • Familiarity with fabrication workflows and constructability constraints.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes:
    • Structural steel: AWS D1.1 or equivalent
    • Piping: ASME B31.3, DNV-RP-B204
  • Good understanding of subsea equipment (PLET/PLEM, etc.).
  • Experience evaluating STQs and proposing technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of NCR/MOC processes and risk assessment procedures.
  • Previous Oil & Gas experience is a strong asset.
