Summary: The CMM Quality Inspector is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to verify that manufactured components meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. This position plays a key role in dimensional inspection activities, quality documentation, and product compliance while supporting production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on machined components and assemblies.
- Create, edit, and maintain CMM programs using measurement software such as PC-DMIS, Measure Max, Calypso, SolidWorks, Renishaw, or similar platforms.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure product conformance.
- Troubleshoot CMM equipment, inspection programs, and measurement discrepancies, taking corrective action when needed.
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections and accurately document results.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), quality records, and other required documentation.
- Verify calibration status and perform routine equipment checks to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve quality concerns and technical questions.
- Review products for compliance with customer specifications, company quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, continuous improvement initiatives, employee training efforts, and other quality-related activities.
- Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, CMM operation, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting CMM equipment and inspection programs.
- Experience performing dimensional inspections and working with quality documentation systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, procedures, and industry standards.
- Experience creating inspection reports, NCRs, and related quality records.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software, CMM programming software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement techniques.
- Proficiency using metrology tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately document inspection data and maintain quality records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions.
