Activities 
• Responsible to drive safety culture and leadership programs within the Project.

• Create and maintain plans for achieving a positive safety culture by influencing behaviours and attitudes at all levels of the workforce.

• Provide structured coaching to managers, supervisors and workers, reinforcing safe work practices and addressing unsafe behaviours constructively.

• Support hazard identification, risk assessments and implementation of effective control measures.

• Deliver and coach toolbox talks, safety inductions and refresher training sessions to enhance workforce competence.

• Ensure that safety tools and initiatives (Golden rules, Stop card, Our lives first program, permit audits, etc. …) are implemented and effective.

• Conduct site inspections, monitor high-risk activities, and intervene to prevent accidents and near misses.

• Document observations, prepare reports, and provide feedback to management to drive safety performance improvements.

• Participate in investigations and REX processes as the human factors subject matter expert.

• Provide reports and data analysis on activities and performance and maintain behavioural KPIs.

• Develop and lead safety culture workshops that are designed according to organisational level – content on workshops to focus on safety coaching topics including, recognising hazards, risk awareness & perception, active listening, non-defensive feedback, emotional intelligence).

Context and environment

• This is a 28/28 rotational position and will support all of the projects locations.

• This role requires constant and consistent identification and engagement with stakeholders.

• Be customer focused and provide a consistent approach across all levels and authorities of the project organisation with regards to improving and embedding the desired safety culture.

• Although affiliate activities are mainly related to the Project, multiple peripheral activities are ongoing and requiring close HSE Operation support.

Accountabilities
• Ensure monitoring and assessment of contractor’s safety performance.

• Monitor effectiveness of Managers and Supervisors to act as safety leaders and address identified gaps.

• Ensure continuity of safety culture program during handover with back-to-back.

Qualifications/Experience required
• Confirmed Engineer, or equivalent, with at least 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Projects in HSE related matters.

• Technical knowledge of safety, health and environment management, emergency management, applicable regulations.

• Good knowledge of oil and gas industry codes and international HSE standards and legislation.

• Familiar with the clients HSE management System / Company Rules is a plus.

• Analytical mind with the ability to make sound decisions and to take on challenges.

• Knowledge and experience of handling relationships at all organisational levels.

• Strong team spirit, field proven coordination and communication skills and recognized capability to work in a transverse mode.

• English speaking and writing. Portuguese and French are a plus.
