Sales Support Specialist – Automation | 12-Month Contract
NES Fircroft is partnering with a global leader in engineering and technology and is currently seeking a Sales Support Specialist within their Automation business on an initial 12-month contract basis. Our client delivers innovative solutions across automation, electrification, robotics, and digital systems, working with major organisations across mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, and infrastructure worldwide.
About the Role
Supports the Sales team and customers throughout the proposal process by developing technical solutions, preparing product and technology documentation, defining costs, and acting as a key technical point of contact within the automation and instrumentation space.
Key Responsibilities
Experience Required
• Proven experience in Sales Engineering or technical sales within automation or controls
• Strong understanding of PLC, DCS, SCADA, instrumentation, or industrial automation systems
• Experience across industries such as mining, energy, utilities, or manufacturing
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consultative sales skills
• Experience managing project-based or long-cycle sales processes
Candidates must have valid Australian working rights.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support across products, systems, and applications to customers and sales teams
- Develop and present tailored technical solutions aligned to customer requirements
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
- Work closely with Sales to identify and develop new business opportunities
- Contribute to achieving sales targets, including orders, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Deliver technical presentations, product training, and support during client meetings and negotiations
- Analyse customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity to strengthen bid strategies
- Support risk reviews and ensure compliance with internal policies and commercial requirements
