1. Function Overview The Senior Buyer is responsible for procuring project materials and services (incorporables or installation aids) as assigned by the Project SCM Manager. The role ensures the complete and timely delivery of materials and equipment in line with project requirements.

Key aspects include:
- Monitoring delivery timelines and raising alerts for any delays
- Proposing and implementing recovery plans where required
- Ensuring compliance with SCM processes
- Maintaining up-to-date expediting and inspection records
- Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with suppliers
- Work in accordance with NES Fircroft processes, using SCM tools and adhering to the company’s Business Code of Ethics
- Propose bidder lists based on approved supplier lists and project SCM strategy
- Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) via SAP Ariba
- Perform commercial, contractual, and schedule evaluations of bids
- Integrate technical evaluations from Engineering, QA, QC, and HSE
- Prepare bid summaries and recommend technically acceptable solutions
- Conduct commercial negotiations to secure optimal terms for NES Fircroft
- Prepare Supplier Commitment Approval (SCA) for Budget Holder approval
- Create and manage Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) in SAP
- Organise and lead vendor Kick-Off Meetings, ensuring clarity of documentation and contractual requirements
- Attend Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) and ensure all required documentation is approved and available
- Expedite supplier documentation and manage the Supplier Documentation Register (SDR)
- Coordinate inspection requests with QC Engineers and clients in line with ITP requirements
- Monitor inspections and ensure reports are reviewed, approved, and logged
- Maintain strong coordination with QC Engineers to anticipate schedule impacts
- Track manufacturing progress and report risks or delays to the Project SCM Manager
- Maintain logs of technical queries and deviations, ensuring timely closure
- Expedite supplier documentation approval processes
- Ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of materials, services, and documentation
- Authorise release notes and trigger material receipt in SAP
- Prepare shipment documentation and coordinate with transit agents
- Maintain close communication with logistics teams to anticipate delivery readiness
- Manage Change Orders, including negotiation and approval
- Review supplier invoices and final accounts
- Obtain close-out certificates from suppliers
- Expedite and finalise supplier data books in line with project requirements
- Coordinate reviews and approvals across stakeholders
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations upon completion
- The Senior Buyer is not authorised to commit the company independently
- All commitments must be approved by designated Budget Holders
