Our client INPEX in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Position Senior Contracts Advisor / Category Specialist for a 12-month contract.
The Senior Contracts Advisor / Category Specialist is responsible for end‑to‑end contract lifecycle management, contract drafting and interpretation, commercial negotiation, and support Contract Owner with post‑award ensuring appropriate risk management.
Stakeholder management, compliance with governance and policies, and delivery of commercial sound business outcomes in a live high risk operational environment.
Manages the execution of Tier A, B and C sourcing events to meet business
demands, supports the development of contracting strategies and consolidate spend opportunities.
Provides guidance to Contract Owners in post award contract management and compliance to contracting processes.

The Senior Contracts Advisor / Category Specialist is responsible for end‑to‑end contract lifecycle management, contract drafting and interpretation, commercial negotiation, and support Contract Owner with post‑award ensuring appropriate risk management.

Experience requied in oil and gas operational contracts for example:
- Subsea “IMR” Installation Maintenance Repair; Life of Field; and
- minor subsea construction,
- Operations facilities maintenance,
- Implementation, maintenance services,
- Hotel Services,
- Fabrication Services,
- Logistics contracts such as Offshore Support Vessels, platform supply vessels, Medivac & Medical Services
- Materials and services contracts for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
- Support the development and implementation of category strategies
- Lead pre-ward contracting processes and provide commercial guidance to
- Contract Owners for effective post award contract management that drives supplier performance.
- Support the development of category and sourcing strategies.
- Leads Tier A, B, and C sourcing activities, including supplier negotiations
- Execution of Tier A, B and C contract development, compilation, sourcing, pretenders, Invitations to Tender, tender evaluation, negotiation, award recommendations, contract conformance, and award.
- Ensure that contract processes are carried out in the most efficient and costeffective manner in compliance with INPEX/JOA approved procedures
- Recommendations for approval from internal decision makers and Joint Venture Partners
- Support business functions to develop quality Scope of Work
- Provide guidance to Contract Owners in post award contract management and compliance to contracting processes ensuring supplier performance.
- Develops effective relationships with internal business stakeholders to define the business’ contracting requirements, to forecast demand, and ensure contracts are in place to meet demand.
- Ensure contracting processes meet the requirements of internal and external local content plan, modern slavery in the supply chain, and Indigenous engagement policies.
- Ensure contracts are developed and implemented to mitigate risks to environment, safety, assets, regulatory and reputation.
- Engineering/Quantity Surveying qualification, Business Administration, Law or equivalent professional or 10 plus years of relevant experience
- Business Administration, Law or equivalent professional qualification (desirable)
- CIPS or equivalent qualification in Procurement and Supply Chain
- Has experience in oil and gas operator category management and delivering value in the responsible category, contract formulation, systems and processes (>10 years).
- Strong experience in end-to-end contracting process from Sourcing Plan; to tender; to award and post award contract management best practice in oil and gas operations contracts.
- Experience negotiating general conditions of contract; pricing structures.
- Has a good understanding of Contract Lifecycle Management Systems
- (CLMS) and ERP systems i.e., SAP and SAP Ariba, including managing endto-end sourcing projects and post-award contract administration and ongoing contract hygiene.
- Develops and fosters relationships within the business stakeholders and externally, keeping abreast of operational needs and external market trends
- Innovative, with a commercial mindset that drives creative solutions and delivers category strategies and contracting processes that represent best value for business.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying commercial, legal, and delivery risks and developing mitigation strategies as well as managing claims, disputes, and potential exposure.
- Experience working in a complex Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) and aligning Joint Venture Partners to contracting plans and recommended commercial outcomes.
- Strategic thinker, capable of developing, planning and negotiating commercial outcomes aligned with category strategy
- Operate with a sense of urgency and ownership. Display a high level of energy and take great pride in the high standard and quality of work.
- Detail orientated, ensuring transactional details are compliant throughout sourcing events and post-award agreements are transferred into relevant systems agreements
- Resilient to overcome challenges and remove roadblocks to efficiently deliver commercially sound business results to a high standard.
- Experience with sustainability in the supply chain such as Australian Industry
- Participation Plans; local content; and Modern Slavery; requirements in the contracting process
