Senior Data Engineer – 12 Months Contract – Paris, France

Hybrid 3 days on site 2 days remote
Must be able to speak fluent French with a good command of English
Client will only accept CV’s in English

Required - Azure Functions - Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2). Azure Container Instances. Azure Event Hubs (for streaming). Advanced proficiency in Python (including Pandas). Transformation - Use of custom Python scripts for data cleaning & contextualization. Knowledge of data science is a plus. Strong command of Git and GitHub. Quality practices: - Testing: Pytest -Linting: Ruff / Black

Main Goal

The Senior Data Engineer’s mission is to design, develop, & industrialize data solutions for the product, ensuring a scalable, maintainable architecture aligned with Digital Factory standards.

Senior Data Engineer responsibilities & tasks

Engineering & Development

•            Design & develop robust & high-performance data pipelines
•            Participate in designing & implementing data architectures aligned with product needs
•            Ensure code quality through Clean Code principles, DDD, & peer reviews
•            Contribute to product documentation related to data

Industrialization

•            Contribute to data flow observability (monitoring, alerting, logs)
•            Optimize processing performance & infrastructure costs (Data FinOps)
•            Ensure data security & compliance

Technical Support & Expertise

•            Communicate effectively with business stakeholders & translate business needs into technical requirements
•            Provide technical input on user story feasibility during Agile ceremonies
•            Troubleshoot & prevent production incidents
•            Actively collaborate within the team & across roles
•            Contribute to the community (Chapter) by sharing technical feedback & best practices

Databases

•            Strong knowledge of relational databases
•            Good understanding of non-relational databases

Data Ingestion

•            Collect hot business data (near real-time → ~15 minutes) from Azure Event Hub
•            Collect cold business data from Azure Data Lake
•            Ability to build pipelines supporting both types of data
