Senior Drilling Engineer – Horizontal (Offshore Floating Operations) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or earth sciences.
  
  
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Drilling Engineering, including 5+ years in a Senior Drilling Engineer role.
  
  
• Proven experience in Horizontal / Extended-Reach (ERD) well design and Deepwater operations.
  
  
• Strong technical expertise in:

  • Geomechanics
    
    
  • ERD Mechanics and Complex Well Design
    
    
  • Drilling Hydraulics
    
    
  • Basic Drilling Fluid Engineering
    
    
  • Casing Design

• IWCF Well Control Certification for floating operations (mandatory).
  
  

Main Responsibilities Conceptual Well Design

• Request and follow up on required information from the customer.
  
  

Drilling Program Preparation

• Prepare contractor information packages.
  
  
• Review stakeholder inputs and request additional information as needed.
  
  
• Develop the Drilling Program in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  
  
• Ensure all identified hazards are addressed in the Drilling Program.
  
  
• Prepare AFE (Authorization for Expenditure).
  
  
• Organize materials and equipment as directed by the Drilling Team Leader.
  
  
• Prepare and present the draft Drilling Program.
  
  
• Issue the final Drilling Program.
  
  
• Present at pre-spud meetings and issue meeting minutes.
  
  
• Continuously analyze and improve the planning process.
  
  

Procurement of Materials, Equipment, and Services

• Prepare technical justifications and cost estimates.
  
  
• Prepare approval forms for Drilling Manager authorization.
  
  

Routine Operations Support

• Review Daily Drilling Reports from the operations site and issue the official Daily Drilling Report.
  
  
• Identify and discuss required modifications to ongoing operations with the Drilling Team Leader and Drilling Superintendent.
  
  
• Report deviations from the Drilling Program.
  
  
• Provide technical input as required.
  
  
• Prepare agendas and minutes for Weekly Drilling Meetings and follow up on action items.
  
  
• Participate in incident/accident investigations and follow-up activities.
  
  
• Record learnings in the Learning Register as required.
  
  

Written Modifications to the Drilling Program

• Prepare Modified Drilling Programs in accordance with procedures.
  
  
• Obtain and incorporate contractor input as needed.
  
  

Logistics Support

• Assist the Drilling Superintendent with logistics management as directed by the Drilling Team Leader.
  
  

Well Analysis & Review

• Review Learning Register entries.
  
  
• Prepare and analyze statistical data.
  
  
• Conduct technical analyses and recommend improvements.
  
  
• Prepare Well Analysis and Process Review reports.
  
  
• Add additional Learning Register entries when required.
  
  

Learning Register Maintenance

• Review reports and suggestions and update the Learning Register.
  
  
• Conduct technical analysis and recommend improvements.
  
  
• Distribute updated Learning Register entries.
  
  

DCMS Updates

• Draft revisions to the Drilling & Completion Management System (DCMS).
  
  

Contract Management Support

• Verify invoices for consistency with services delivered and contract terms.
  
  
• Coordinate with Legal and Finance teams as needed.
  
  

General Administration

• Maintain well files and administrative documentation.
