Senior Mechanical Engineer – Asset Integrity
Dorset | Full-Time Onsite

We have a great opportunity for either an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to step up into a Senior Mechanical Engineer position, as well as established Senior Engineers with a strong background in static equipment and asset integrity to join one of the UK’s largest onshore oil and gas operations, supporting the safe and reliable performance of critical infrastructure within a high-hazard operating environment.

Working onsite in Dorset, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, safety, and compliance of pressure systems, pipelines, and static mechanical equipment across the asset. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to manage integrity risks, support inspection and maintenance strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead mechanical integrity activities for static equipment and piping systems
  • Review and approve engineering documentation including piping isometrics, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
  • Assist with integrity management, risk assessments, and corrosion mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with UK safety legislation including PSSR, PSR, and COMAH requirements
  • Support inspection planning, anomaly management, and management of change (MOC) processes
  • Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, inspection, and third-party engineering contractors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and asset reliability performance
  • Mentor and support junior engineers where required
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
  • Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, process, or other high-hazard industries
  • Background in mechanical engineering, static equipment, piping, or asset integrity
  • Understanding of pressure systems, pipelines, and mechanical compliance standards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Motivated, proactive, and keen to develop within a senior engineering environment
Desirable
  • Experience with corrosion management, RBI, CUI, or fitness-for-service assessments
  • Knowledge of API, EEMUA, or relevant industry standards
  • Chartered status or working towards CEng
  • Familiarity with integrity KPI reporting and inspection strategies
