Senior Power Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Senior Power Systems Engineer will lead technical assessments and power systems analysis for large-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects. You will manage power system study projects end-to-end, liaise with clients and external stakeholders, and provide technical leadership and mentoring to a talented team of engineers.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in a power systems consultancy,
OEM, or network service provider
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in power systems analysis for grid connection of
utility-scale renewable energy plants in the Australian market
Technical Skills
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electricity Rules, with particular depth in
Chapter 5
• Demonstrated experience with power system simulation software: PSS/E, PSCAD, and/or
PowerFactory
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, MATLAB, and/or C++
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply structured logic to
complex engineering challenges

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead power system simulations and technical studies across the full grid connection
lifecycle, from feasibility through to commissioning of renewable energy projects
• Prepare high-quality client deliverables including technical reports, supporting documents,
and presentations
• Develop and maintain programming scripts and software tools to support power systems
analysis workflows
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers
• Build and nurture external relationships through active client engagement, project delivery,
and industry events
• Identify and drive improvements to internal procedures, tools, and methodologies based
on project experience and client feedback
• Support Directors and Principal Engineers in preparing proposals, conducting commercial
negotiations, and closing engagements
• Contribute to the expansion of existing capabilities and the development of new service
offerings as directed by senior leadership
