Senior SCADA & Controls Engineer
Perth Based | Contract Opportunity | $100 + Super Per hour
If you're a SCADA and Controls Engineer who enjoys being involved right through the project lifecycle — from system design and configuration through to testing, commissioning and energisation — this could be a particularly interesting opportunity.
I'm working with a major owner-operator delivering one of the largest renewable energy and transmission programmes currently underway in Western Australia. They're looking for an experienced Senior SCADA & Controls Engineer to join the engineering team supporting the delivery of new transmission infrastructure, substations, renewable generation assets and battery storage projects.
This role would suit someone from a utility, power systems, EPC or major projects background who wants to work on large-scale infrastructure that is reshaping the future of energy across WA.
The Role
Joining a specialist SCADA and Controls team, you'll be involved in the delivery of control and automation systems across a portfolio of high-voltage substations, renewable generation facilities and energy storage assets. The role combines engineering, system integration and commissioning activities, with a strong focus on ensuring control systems perform reliably in operational environments.
You'll work closely with engineering, operations, technology and project delivery teams to develop, configure, test and commission integrated control systems that support critical energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
There aren't many opportunities in Perth where you can work across transmission infrastructure, substations, battery storage and renewable generation projects within the one programme.
This is the type of role where you'll see systems move from engineering concepts through to live operation, while working alongside experienced specialists on some genuinely complex projects. The variety is strong, the scale is significant, and the work has a direct impact on the future energy mix of Western Australia.
It's also a great opportunity for someone from an EPC, utility or systems integration background who enjoys solving technical problems, commissioning equipment and working across multidisciplinary project teams rather than being confined to a purely design-focused position.
For a confidential discussion regarding the opportunity, please get in touch. All enquiries and applications will be treated in strict confidence.
With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
