Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Specialist (Contract) to support the supply chain team through execution-focused sourcing, supplier management, contract support, and commercial coordination across a mix of direct and indirect categories. This role will report to the Senior Category Manager and support multiple members of the supply chain team by owning assigned workstreams, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and helping move day-to-day commercial activities forward.
The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on supply chain professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities at once, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable supporting a wide range of workstreams, from sourcing projects and supplier coordination to detail-oriented follow-up and day-to-day commercial support, while consistently delivering high quality execution across shifting team priorities. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at the Houston Downtown location will be required. Although office based, some travel to operational sites may be required.

Responsibilities
Sourcing and Project Execution
- Lead execution of assigned sourcing and commercial workstreams across a mix of direct and indirect categories as needed.
- Run RFQs, bid analysis, supplier comparisons, pricing reviews, commercial evaluations, and recommendation summaries for assigned projects.
- Own assigned sourcing projects and support workstreams from kickoff through completion, with a focus on strong execution, coordination, and commercial follow-through.
- Support sourcing of materials and services for field and business operations across assigned categories.
- Drive supplier follow-up, quote collection, clarification tracking, and day-to-day commercial coordination to help keep projects moving.
- Support supplier management activities, including communication, issue follow-up, pricing checks, scope clarification, and coordination on day-to-day commercial matters.
- Support contract development and commercial review processes, including scope alignment, pricing validation, and coordination with legal and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Partner with drilling, completions, operations, finance, workplace, and other internal stakeholders to align sourcing activity with project needs, budgets, and timelines.
- Help ensure supplier proposals are commercially sound, clearly scoped, and aligned with business requirements.
- Escalate key commercial risks, supplier concerns, and unresolved issues when appropriate, while using sound judgment to work through routine issues independently.
- Conduct market, pricing, and commercial analysis to support supplier selection, negotiations, benchmarking, and cost improvement efforts.
- Organize and maintain sourcing documentation, bid summaries, commercial comparisons, contract support materials, supplier communications, and other execution-related records.
- Provide reliable day-to-day support across assigned supplier, contract, and sourcing workstreams, including follow-up, issue resolution, documentation, pricing checks, and coordination needed to keep activities moving.
- Support implementation and closeout activities to help ensure smooth handoff from sourcing through execution.
- Help identify practical opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency, supplier responsiveness, commercial consistency, and team support across assigned workstreams.
- Take ownership of routine but business-critical execution tasks that support the broader supply chain team and help maintain momentum across multiple active workstreams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, contracts, or category management roles
- Experience supporting industrial, field-based, operations, or indirect spend categories, with the ability to manage a mix of technical and non-technical sourcing projects.
- Demonstrated experience running sourcing events, evaluating bids, and negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, including experience with cost comparisons, pricing analysis, and supplier evaluation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with ERP, procurement, or contract management systems.
- Experience supporting drilling and completions operations, energy, oilfield services, geothermal, construction, or other operationally intensive environments.
- Experience across both direct and indirect categories, such as field services, equipment, rentals, logistics, fleet, facilities, or workplace services.
- Ability to work independently, identify priorities, and move projects forward with limited day-to-day direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
- Practical, hands-on approach with a focus on execution, follow-through, and problem solving.
- This is a contract position supporting our client’s supply chain organization.
