Site Manager
The site manager or client representative is a functional role in a project for which the following skills are desirable:
- Electrical engineering training/degree with practical experience in the construction of energy industry facilities
- Experience in the supervision, leadership, and management of large construction sites.
- Experience in monitoring occupational safety.
- Experience in commissioning electrical engineering systems 10 kV desirable
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the general contractor, suppliers, the site on location, and headquarters in Essen
Job description:
The site manager/client representative is a functional role in a project, which essentially involves the following activities (list is not exhaustive).
- Representative on the construction site vis-à-vis the general contractor, the neighbouring Nuclear site and, if applicable, authorities.
- Management of and contact person for the general contractor and own suppliers
- Coordination, management, instruction, supervision, and support of component suppliers at and on the construction site.
- Interface coordination with the neighbouring power plant and engineering colleagues in Essen and Dresden
- Responsibility for the construction and commissioning of the construction site in the role of client
- Responsibility for health, safety, and the environment on the construction site in the role and on behalf of the client
- Monitoring the work of component suppliers and general contractors
- Coordinating and monitoring the commissioning of components provided by the company (battery containers, converters, MV and HV transformers) by the relevant suppliers together with the general contractor.
- The construction site itself is handed over to a contracted general contractor who is responsible for the construction site, safety, compliance with permits, and construction site management. The client representative acts as the second line of contact on site but does not bear any direct responsibility in the sense of a site manager vis-à-vis authorities or official bodies.
NOTE: proficiency in German language is MANDATORY
