The Planner will play a key role in the planning, scheduling, and progress control of site-based construction and installation activities. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Client representatives, you will ensure that work is executed efficiently, safely, and in line with contractual milestones.
This is a FIFO 14/7 roster, office or site based role in regional NSW, supporting day-to-day construction operations and long-term project delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed site-level construction schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, and ALICE Technologies for construction sequencing, optimisation, and scenario analysis.
• Monitor and analyse site progress against baseline schedules, identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for optimisation.
• Utilise ALICE to model construction methodologies, resource constraints, and sequencing options to support decision-making and improve productivity.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including earned value analysis, productivity metrics, manpower forecasting, and schedule performance indicators.
• Produce and maintain look-ahead schedules to support efficient resource allocation and site coordination.
• Interface with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives to align planning activities and resolve schedule impacts.
• Integrate subcontractor programmes into the master schedule, ensuring alignment with key milestones and contractual obligations.
• Support claims preparation, delay analysis, and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions where required.
• Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with contract requirements and Voith Hydro procedures.
• Assist with commissioning planning and coordination through to project completion.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project planning and scheduling on major infrastructure or energy projects (hydropower, renewables, or power generation highly regarded).
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential), with solid capability in MS Project and Excel.
• Experience using ALICE Technologies or similar construction simulation / optimisation tools highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in site-based project controls and construction planning.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and resource-driven scheduling.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, site-based project environment
