Staff Engineering Technician 
Contract (6 months)

Overview
Supports civil engineering efforts within mission-critical infrastructure projects focused on protecting national security and enabling high-consequence federal operations. Work involves developing resilient systems and site designs that perform reliably in complex environments, in collaboration with federal government partners.

Job Summary
  • Functions in a project engineering technician capacity under general supervision.
  • Supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
  • Applies foundational civil engineering principles and established design practices to produce moderately complex design solutions.
  • Utilizes tools such as CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling (including Autodesk Civil 3D) to create and maintain engineering drawings and project documentation.
  • Provides technical guidance and direction to other technicians and engineering personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of standards, systems, document control practices, applicable codes, and company policies.
  • Review project requirements and determine appropriate formats and deliverables.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards through adherence to quality programs and continuous improvement practices.
  • Review design inputs to maintain consistency and compliance with project-specific codes and standards.
  • Develop moderately complex design concepts using established engineering principles.
  • Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
  • Handle complex technical assignments within area of expertise and provide guidance to others.
  • Review deliverables prepared by others to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Define work assignments and maintain schedules when required.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to exchange project information.
  • Participate in field activities and support project execution as needed.
  • Apply judgment in interpreting inputs and making decisions regarding deliverables.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and processes and share knowledge across teams.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Diploma or certificate required.
  • Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred.
