NES Fircroft are supporting our valued client who are looking for a Subsea Engineer to join their Perth Office on an initial 12-month contract.

Primary Objective:

Provides subsea engineering support to the Lead Subsea Engineer. Responsible for optimising subsea equipment and services planning, costing and operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

OHS
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment.
Technical Expertise
  • Experienced in subsea operations supporting MODU operations, overseeing contractor compliance with contracted scopes of work, and preparing subsea equipment installation procedures, including the subsea programme and contingency plans. Postoperations reviews and implementing performance improvement plans to drive efficiency.
  • Good understanding of subsea engineering. Expertise shall include vertical XT designs, Installation WorkOver Control Systems (IWOCS), Through BOP Intervention Riser Systems (TBIRS), Open Water Intervention Riser Systems (OWIRS) systems, and Remotely Operated vehicle (ROV) technologies.
  • Knowledge of Light Well Intervention (LWI) planning and execution, including a good understanding of the fundamental operational aspects and key interfaces involved in planning LWI operations.
  • Experience in providing technical support for key well engineering activities, including time and cost estimating, risk assessment and management, design and peer reviews, technical assurance, verification, and operational safety assessments.
  • Experience in the technical tendering processes, including developing specifications, scopes of work, reimbursement mechanisms, and schedules for tender documents. Tender evaluation, clarifications, and tender negotiations to meet drilling and project requirements.
  • Actively engage with Subsea suppliers for the identification and evaluation of appropriate technologies and services required to meet project objectives.
  • Proficient in Subsea supplier package management for tendering, planning, testing and execution during project phases. Manage technical and fiscal work on supplier contracts and procurement activities, including but not limited to budgeting, invoicing process, change order and variation process etc.
  • Maintain good working relationships with suppliers and contractors ensuring timely and costeffective delivery of equipment and service personnel.
  • Basic understanding of the basic drilling principles and key completion interfaces and considerations.
  • Basic understanding of NOPSEMA regulatory framework and purpose of facility safety case and the well operations management plan.
  • Experience and demonstratable track record with participation in formal safety assessments (HAZID), HAZOPS and operational risk assessments.
  • Experience and demonstratable track record in contract management, including the development of contract values and successful management of associated contract budgets.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of drilling and completions related subsea engineering experience.
  • Safety management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Industry Standards such as DNV, API, ISO, etc
