Role Overview
This role focuses on strengthening the industrial maturity and operational performance of a global supply base within high-complexity manufacturing environments. The System Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to improve production systems, enhance capacity and stability, and build long-term operational capability across diverse regions and cultures.
The position emphasizes supplier production systems and capability building, not day-to-day site industrial engineering or quality escalation. The work combines hands-on improvement efforts with scalable methods, standard work, and training.

  • Lead initiatives related to capacity modeling, flow optimization, lead-time reduction, and production robustness
  • Define and implement KPIs, operating routines, and performance tracking methods
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Support development of advanced manufacturing methods and production technologies at supplier sites
  • Translate enterprise-level priorities into structured supplier development initiatives
  • Convert hands-on improvement learnings into scalable playbooks, standard work, and training materials
  • Collaborate effectively within matrixed organizations through influence, technical credibility, and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide targeted, hands-on support for high-priority supplier situations as needed
Required Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production systems, or supplier development within complex industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience delivering measurable improvements in production systems, operations, or supplier capability
  • Significant professional experience improving production systems, operations, or supplier capability in complex industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data-driven insights for decision-making
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving
  • Experience documenting methods and enabling others through coaching and training
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures, regions, and organizational structures
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%

Preferred Skills & Tools
  • Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 8D, Six Sigma
  • Capacity and constraint analysis
  • Production system design and optimization
  • Technical project management
  • Data and analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
  • Familiarity with digital tools and emerging AI-enabled analytics
  • SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms
  • Supply Chain and Supplier Development experience
