• Position Status: Permanent – Full Time
• Location: Remote
• Nightshift Work Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Purpose The Accounts Payable Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily accounts payable operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications. This role supports the Assistant Controller by maintaining strong internal controls, improving AP processes, and providing guidance to the accounts payable team. The position ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements while fostering strong vendor relationships.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounts payable activities including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
• Review and verify invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and correct general ledger coding
• Ensure timely processing of vendor payments while maintaining compliance with company policies
• Monitor and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and internal AP questions
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes including accruals and reconciliations related to accounts payable
• Assist the Assistant Controller in maintaining and improving AP policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Train, mentor, and provide guidance to Accounts Payable staff
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the AP function
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policy and audit requirements
• Assist with audits by preparing requested documentation and responding to auditor inquiries

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience
• Prior experience leading or coordinating AP functions or small teams preferred
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and general accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication and vendor relationship management skills
• Ability to analyze discrepancies and resolve issues effectively
