NES Fircroft are supporting our valued client, A Global Oil & Gas Operator, who are  looking for an Asset Retirement Onshore Legacy Specialist, to join their Operations on a 14/14 rotation for 2-year contract.

Role description:

The client has an exciting opportunity for a Asset Retirement Onshore Legacy Specialist to coordinate and lead delivery of the following activities with your field-based team (comprising specialist contract services):

- Earthworks/civils activities, waste disposal management and hazardous materials testing activities to support enablement and functionality of decommissioning activities on former operational sites.
- Earthworks needed to support contaminated site management activities (investigations and remediation) and rehabilitation trials.

These activities must be managed in coordination and support from the greater site operations/maintenance and decommissioning teams, and your supporting Perth based team.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have first-hand experience (10 years +) and demonstratable success with the following:
  • Leading the stringent application and management for your work teams of Permit to Work systems applied within the oil and gas industry, that manage risk and protect people and the environment.
  • A focus on delivering safe working outcomes for any scope activity, above all else, using available check systems and tools.
  • Leading by example and provision of direction for your work teams to support understanding safe work processes, and safe, respectful and inclusive behaviours within the workplace.
  • Ability to care for and manage of any concerning behaviours, with support from line management.
  • Experience in delivery of earthworks activities and landforming to a plan, and management of waste materials.
  • Experience of work activities supporting decommissioning, contamination management and rehabilitation projects that support closure objectives.
  • Exceptional planning and clear communication skills that allow for coordination and management of various contractors speciality areas to deliver scope objectives.
  • Consideration of ability to manage multiple complex work fronts in different work areas, and management of risk of simultaneous operations within single work areas is also highly valued.
  • Ability to clearly and efficiently communicate and document work activities, progress to workplan/budget, work program issues and solution options to line management and business leadership.
  • Ability to look for improvements in work planning/work delivery, to find efficiencies and cost savings, that support closure objectives.
  • Understanding of oil and gas production processes, facilities and infrastructure.
