CAPEX ENGINEER
The CAPEX Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and executing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from concept through commissioning. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while supporting business growth and operational efficiency.
Typically requires an undergraduate degree and broad experience or equivalent. Working Environment Standard Office Environment. May be required to travel and/or have overnight trips. Hours worked may exceed regular schedule. Physical Effort Little chance of injury. Duties may involve sitting, standing, keyboarding with frequent flexible breaks.

The CAPEX Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and executing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from concept through commissioning. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while supporting business growth and operational efficiency.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop CAPEX project proposals aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and investment justifications.
- Manage CAPEX projects end-to-end, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and close-out.
- Track CAPEX spend and ensure compliance with approved budgets and governance processes.
- Develop technical specifications, layouts, and equipment requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Finance, Procurement).
- Lead or support equipment selection, FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and local legal requirements.
- Prepare RFQs, evaluate technical and commercial bids, and support supplier selection.
- Manage external contractors and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and timeline adherence.
- Review contractor deliverables, drawings, and documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA) for CAPEX projects.
- Ensure projects comply with EHS, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support audits, inspections, and validation activities as required.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.
- Prepare regular project status updates and CAPEX reports for management.
- Capture lessons learned and support standardization of project management practices.
- Experience managing CAPEX or industrial engineering projects.
- Proven experience in project management within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of CAPEX budgeting, cost control, and financial evaluation.
- Knowledge of engineering design, equipment procurement, and commissioning.
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Working knowledge of EHS and regulatory requirements.
