Change Management and Communications Lead
Location: Calgary, AB
Start Date: February, 2026
Duration: Contracted until end of 2026 year – with possibility of extension.
Work Model: In office Monday-Friday
Overview
  • The Change Management and Communications Lead is responsible for designing and leading change initiatives that support new technology, processes, and cultural shifts. You bring proven experience managing large, complex change programs that impact diverse stakeholder groups across multiple business areas.
  • Success in this role relies on your ability to build strong relationships, analyze information, draw meaningful conclusions, and communicate recommendations clearly. Your communication and writing skills are essential to driving project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the overall change management strategy and approach, collaborating with the program OCM lead when needed.
  • Use Client methodology to create change management plans and deliverables.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders to assess potential or actual impacts of complex change.
  • Build change capability within the project team and coach leaders on effective sponsorship.
  • Partner with the project manager or initiative lead to integrate change management into the project plan.
  • Lead the creation of communication materials, including key messages, sponsor updates, and presentations.
  • Identify people‑related risks and proactively manage them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and track metrics to measure business readiness and adoption, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Monitor and assess risks related to concurrent organizational changes.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
  • Post‑secondary degree in communications, business management, psychology, human resources, or education.
  • 7–10 years of change management experience in complex organizations, ideally supporting transformational or cultural change.
  • Change management certification (Prosci preferred).
  • Practical experience conducting change assessments (case for change, stakeholder analysis, impact assessments) and developing comprehensive change plans covering sponsorship, engagement, communication, training, resistance management, and sustainment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and create clear, concise messaging for different audiences.
  • Experience advising and influencing leaders without formal authority.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship‑building, and credibility‑building skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer focus with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and managing multiple priorities independently.

  • Experience in the energy industry.
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals.
