Civil Supervisor – 12 month contract – 19/9 FIFO

We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to oversee site construction activities for upstream projects. This role ensures construction is completed in line with IFC documents and established construction standards. You will play a key role in promoting safety, quality, and technical excellence on site while supervising third-party excavation works and other competent persons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor daily construction activities on site.
  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for construction, design, and execution issues.
  • Supervise live/high-risk excavations.
  • Approve excavation permits and ensure compliance with excavation procedures.
  • Liaise with land access teams to ensure consent before entering properties.
  • Ensure contractors and third-party services have adequate resources to safely and efficiently complete work.
  • Review project documentation including SOW, design drawings, commissioning strategy, and provide clarity to contractors.
  • Prepare construction reports and monitor contractor performance against project standards.
  • Conduct site surveys to support engineering design and assist field engineers with issue resolution.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and participate in handover inspections (MC-1, PC-1, SC-1, walkdowns).
  • Facilitate site scope of work reviews with contractors.
Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the liaison between operations, commissioning, construction contractors, land & community teams, HSSE, engineering, and environmental stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong communication with all site teams and management regarding risks, issues, and project progress.
Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
  • Ensure all activities comply with corporate and local HSSE policies and regulations.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and intervene where necessary to maintain safe practices.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience with HDPE water and gas gathering systems or similar.
  • Construction experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry (preferred) or ability to achieve.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with live asset excavation and backfill.
  • Knowledge of live tie-in work, squeeze off and hot tap procedures, HDPE welding, flange management, and N2 purging & testing.
  • Experience with LPD & HPV excavation and installation.
