Construction Coordinator – Tank Roof Rehabilitation
Location: Prince Rupert, BC (camp accommodations provided)
Contract Length: ~3 months
Schedule: 6/1, 10 hr days
Project Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to support Phase 2 of a tank roof rehabilitation project at an industrial facility in Prince Rupert, BC. This is a field-based, safety-critical role supporting a small but complex project executed under a Management of Change (MOC) framework.
The project has an estimated $4M AFE and involves multiple specialized contractors (approximately four vendors on site). While the overall scope is relatively small, the work is technically complex and requires strong contractor oversight due to elevated work on an active tank roof.
Camp accommodations are available. Alternative lodging can be arranged if required.
Scope of Work
  • Tank Roof Rehabilitation – Phase 2
  • Phase 1 (test patch installation) has been completed and approved by engineering
  • Phase 2 includes erection of a large-scale scaffold hoarding system (approximately $1M in scaffolding) to fully enclose the tank roof and protect coating activities from environmental exposure
  • Work is conducted at elevation and is considered high-risk and safety-sensitive
Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of construction activities for Phase 2 of the project. The successful candidate will act as the primary on-site representative, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering requirements, schedule expectations, and cost controls.
This role will report directly to the Project Lead and Facility Engineer and requires a strong field presence with the ability to assertively manage contractors and drive daily execution.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee daily construction activities on site
  • Manage multiple contractors and vendors working concurrently
  • Lead and participate in daily safety toolbox meetings
  • Ensure compliance with MOC requirements, engineering drawings, and approved work plans
  • Actively hold contractors accountable for safety, scope, schedule, and quality
  • Monitor scaffold erection and elevated work activities, including mass support considerations
  • Track progress against schedule and identify opportunities to optimize execution
  • Support cost tracking and cost control activities
  • Prepare and submit daily progress and activity reports
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact between contractors, engineering, and facility personnel
  • Proactively address and resolve field issues as they arise
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Construction Coordinator in industrial or oil & gas environments
  • Strong background in safety-critical construction activities, including scaffolding and elevated work
  • Experience working within MOC-driven projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and challenge contractors to ensure compliance and performance
  • Confident, assertive leadership style with strong field presence
  • Experience with an owner company
  • Technical understanding of scaffolding systems and construction sequencing is highly desirable
