Job Title: Construction Inspector
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Near Stadium Area)
Duration: ~6–7 Weeks (Short‑Term Contract)                                                                                                        Rate: $50-65 per hour
Work Type: Onsite – Field Based

  • SRS to Central: April 23 – May 9
  • NRS to Mission: May 17 – May 31
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support a short‑term Transmission / Electrical field project involving overhead and underground transmission routing in Santa Clara, CA. The scope includes oversight of three cables and associated poles for one segment of the route, and cable‑only transmission work on the remaining portion.
This role is ideal for a field‑oriented professional with a strong electrical or transmission background, experience supporting utility‑scale construction, and the ability to coordinate daily field work, ensure compliance, and interface with contractors. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily field oversight for transmission construction, including cable installation and pole‑related activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Support construction activities across designated route sections from April 23 to May 31, per scheduled windows.
  • Conduct site inspections, document progress, track issues, and escalate risks as needed.
  • Validate installation methods for both overhead and underground transmission systems.
  • Interface with field crews, engineers, and project management team to ensure proper execution and adherence to scope.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, including work performed, materials used, delays, and site conditions.
  • Assist in resolving field‑level technical issues, construction conflicts, and coordination gaps.
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards throughout construction.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, electrical construction, utility field work, or related inspection roles.
  • Background in overhead/underground transmission systems, electrical utility work, or power delivery projects.
  • Experience serving as a Construction Inspector, Field Engineer, Construction Manager, or Designer supporting utility projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, construction plans, and routing maps.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements, field execution standards, and utility construction best practices.
  • Ability to work onsite daily for the duration of the project.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting transmission cable installation, pole setting, or distribution line upgrades.
  • Prior field work with California utilities (PG&E, municipal utilities, joint‑agency work, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with contractors, field teams, and project managers.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Field‑based role in Santa Clara, CA near the stadium.
  • Work will occur in alignment with two construction windows:
    • April 23 – May 9 (SRS–Central segment)
    • May 17 – May 31 (NRS–Mission segment)
  • Must be available onsite for the full project duration.
