Department: Project Director Team

Reports To: Contracts Manager

Location: Calgary OR Vancouver with travel to Alaska

Contract Length: 2 Years

Position Overview

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for administering and overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts that support the client’s operations. This role ensures that all contractual agreements align with the client’s strategic, operational, and financial objectives while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The Contracts Administrator will collaborate with internal departments and external partners to draft, negotiate, manage, and close out contracts, ensuring contractor performance and adherence to contractual obligations.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in contract management within the mining, construction, or large‑scale capital projects environment, along with strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Lifecycle Management

  • Administer all phases of the contract lifecycle to ensure alignment with contract terms, performance expectations, timelines, and budgets.
  • Support the development and implementation of contract administration processes (including change order management) for the overall project.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to EPCM Contract Engineering teams throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain contract procedures, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Manage contract close‑out activities in alignment with project and organizational goals.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review performance, discuss issues, and support timely resolution.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration to ensure contract compliance and operational alignment.
Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable legal standards, organizational policies, and project-specific requirements.
  • Monitor contractor performance, address non‑conformances, and support corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date contract files, records, and reporting.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in contract management, with at least 3 years supporting mining, EPC/EPCM, or large‑scale construction projects.
  • Professional certifications such as CCCM, CFCM, CIPS, PMP or equivalent are highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and industry-standard contracting practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple large capital contracts simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret contractual requirements and assess risk.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse functional and project teams.
