Our client, a growing gold explorer and developer, is seeking a skilled Core Yard Technician to join their geology team on a 3 month short‑term contract (with possible extension) This is a FIFO 2:1 role from Perth (roster flexibility may be considered). This position suits someone who has demonstrated, hands‑on experience in core yard operations and can hit the ground running.
About the Role
In this hands-on and physically active position, you’ll be responsible for the accurate processing and preparation of diamond drill core to support an active exploration and development program. You’ll work within a small, collaborative geology team that values safety, quality, and efficiency.

About the Role
In this hands-on and physically active position, you’ll be responsible for the accurate processing and preparation of diamond drill core to support an active exploration and development program. You’ll work within a small, collaborative geology team that values safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, organise, and photograph diamond drill core
- Core marking, cutting, orientation checks, and sampling preparation
- Accurate labelling, tray management, and compliance with QA/QC procedures
- Operation of core saws and adherence to strict safety protocols
- Maintain an organised, clean, and hazard-free core yard
- Assist geologists with core layout, logging preparation, and sampling
- Support sample dispatch and consumables management
- Previous core yard (field technician) experience is essential
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy
- Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor, hands-on environments
- Positive, proactive attitude with strong teamwork skills
- Manual driver’s licence (required)
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced exploration environment
