NES Fircroft is supporting one of their Offshore Wind developer clients, with a new Cost Estimator role, on one of Europe's most exciting projects currently.

This is a 12 month FTC position, working fully remote, with occasional office visits to Aberdeen. Within the role, you will play a key role in developing and managing the cost baseline for the projects you are assigned. This position supports the project cost accuracy, robust estimating, and effective cost control, ensuring these are embedded across all project packages, including offshore substructures, moorings, cables, WTG integration, onshore works, and associated services.

Ideally, we are looking for an individual who has been involved in estimating project costs, liaising with several project stakeholders, across CAPEX development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Class 1–5 cost estimates in accordance with AACE or equivalent company standards and WBS/CBS structures ensuring all scope and quantities are accurately structured and ready for integration into downstream controls
• Interface with Commercial, Supply Chain, Package managers, Finance & Tax, Financial Modellers and planning team to integrate cost
• Perform bottom-up detailed estimates for - Logistics and port services; Subsea cable lay; Towing & Installation campaigns (inc. Vessel & Spread day rates); Fabrication and yard costs; Heavy lift operations 
• Where possible develop benchmarking comparisons using historical offshore project data
• Perform variance analysis and trend identification
• Support Supply Chain review of contractor quotations, CTR’s and Variations & any change management processes and quantify cost impacts
• Prepare cost estimate reports for senior management, partners, and lenders
• Support investment decision gates (FID, DG3, etc.)
• Provide input to project financing documentation
• Collaborate with Cost Control and Project Planning to ensure a smooth, accurate transition of the estimate into the cost model and project schedule baselines
