We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and improving complex engineering systems, structures, and components, ensuring compliance with international standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. This role requires strong technical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to support the development of innovative maritime vessels, offshore structures, or heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Develop and design mechanical, structural, and/or marine engineering systems for ships, offshore platforms, or heavy engineering projects.
Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation using CAD/CAE software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, Catia, or similar).
Conduct structural, stress, and performance analysis using simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran, or equivalent).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including naval architects, production, QA/QC, and project management to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable international and national codes (e.g., DNV, ABS, IMO, ISO).
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project meetings to provide technical input and recommendations.
Identify and implement design improvements for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
Support manufacturing and installation teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting during fabrication and commissioning.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities    
Proven experience in maritime or heavy engineering design.
Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE software and simulation tools.
Knowledge of maritime classification societies’ standards and heavy engineering codes.
Understanding of materials, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes in marine/heavy engineering contexts.
Experience with project documentation, technical specifications, and drawing standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Innovative mindset with a practical approach to engineering challenges.

Education and Experience 
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Naval, Marine, or Structural Engineering.
Typically requires an undergraduate degree and broad experience or equivalent.
