Title: Drafting Coordinator
Location: Houston, TX
Contract: 24 months (Renewable)
Schedule: Onsite -Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Drafting Coordinator to serve as a liaison between internal drafting teams, external service providers, and Project Managers/Engineers. This role involves supporting standard and moderately complex technical drafting assignments and ensuring all drawings meet corporate and project‑specific standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical drafting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal drafting resources, external vendors, and project engineering teams.
  • Support standard and moderately complex drafting and design assignments requiring technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Design Oversight Team to prepare:
    • Preliminary layouts
    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Assist with developing new procedures and improving existing drafting practices.
  • Review project drafting requirements, standards, and expectations.
  • Review and verify drawings for compliance with company and project drafting standards.
  • Provide necessary documentation to Project Engineers/Coordinators for inclusion in the Design Basis Memorandum (DBM).
  • Check CAD files into the FileNet Working Library.
  • Verify that drawings are correctly loaded into the FileNet Engineering and Working Libraries.
  • Notify engineering staff when libraries are updated, accurate, and complete.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Technical School Graduate (Required)
Experience
  • 4–6 years of drafting/design experience
  • Experience working in engineering, pipeline, or industrial environments preferred
  • No field work required
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of CAD drafting standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with FileNet or similar document management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage drawing workflows
  • Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration
