We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer (High Voltage) to support a major petrochemical project in Antwerp, Belgium. The role is strictly hands‑on and technical, with a strong focus on commissioning and site execution, rather than people or package management.
The successful candidate will be embedded within the project execution team, supporting high‑voltage electrical systems through installation, testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases.

The successful candidate will be embedded within the project execution team, supporting high‑voltage electrical systems through installation, testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on electrical engineering support for HV power systems throughout the construction and commissioning phases
- Support installation, testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning of HV equipment and systems
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Participate directly in energisation activities, fault‑finding, and system troubleshooting
- Interface with EPC / EPCM teams, vendors, and site construction teams
- Ensure all electrical activities are executed in line with project specifications, safety standards, and local regulations
- Support commissioning documentation, procedures, and punch‑list closure
- Actively contribute to site safety and compliance, maintaining a strong hands‑on site presence
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience on large EPC or EPCM projects
- Proven background within the oil & gas or petrochemical sector
- Strong hands‑on commissioning experience is essential
- Direct experience with high‑voltage electrical systems (e.g. substations, switchgear, transformers)
- Site‑based experience in construction and commissioning environments
- Hands‑on technical mindset — this is not a management role
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting capability
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑safety‑critical environment
- Able to work independently while integrating into a wider project team
- Strong awareness of electrical safety and permit‑to‑work systems
