An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Pipeline Engineering professional to provide technical and strategic leadership across a large-scale, high-pressure pipeline network. Reporting to the Manager – Pipelines, this role is accountable for ensuring the ongoing safety, reliability, and environmental performance of extensive long-distance pipeline systems, supporting sustainable operations well into the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overarching leadership in pipeline engineering and asset integrity management to maintain safe and dependable operations;

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable engineering standards, integrity frameworks, and regulatory obligations while prioritizing environmental protection, leak prevention, and strong health and safety performance;

  • Set and drive the long-term strategy for pipeline integrity and engineering governance across multiple pipeline assets;

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary Pipelines Engineering team, along with contractors, consultants, and operational personnel across processing and pumping facilities;

  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of the Pipeline Management System, including Integrity Management Plans and Safety Management Systems;

  • Ensure pipelines are operated, inspected, and maintained within approved design limits and aligned with international engineering and safety standards;

  • Provide technical discipline leadership across project phases including concept development, design basis preparation, detailed design review, and Management of Change processes;

  • Develop and implement long-term condition monitoring programs, asset replacement strategies, and cost-effective preventative maintenance plans to support asset life-of-mine objectives;

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, corporate engineering standards, competency development frameworks, mentoring programs, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance asset reliability and availability.

About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Metallurgical, or related discipline);

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in pipeline engineering, operations, asset integrity, inspection, and maintenance within mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry pipeline environments;

  • Proven leadership capability managing multidisciplinary teams in complex and culturally diverse operating environments;

  • Strong working knowledge of pipeline design standards, integrity management systems, regulatory compliance requirements, and safety frameworks;

  • Demonstrated ability to implement best-practice engineering processes and drive continuous improvement outcomes;

  • Strategic capability with experience developing long-term maintenance strategies and capital planning programs;

  • A strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and community considerations, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organisation.
