Job Title: Engineering Technician I
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Rate: $28/hour
Overview
Engineering Technician I to support Materials Laboratory operations focused on testing and evaluating components and materials used in turbine generator applications. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, including sample preparation, operation of testing equipment, and execution of testing protocols for materials used in the company Electrical Generators.

Responsibilities
 
  • Provide hands-on support for laboratory testing and analysis of materials and components used in rotating electrical generators.
  • Prepare test samples using hand tools and manual techniques.
  • Operate a variety of laboratory testing equipment in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
  • Accurately record, document, and communicate test results, observations, and insights to the Materials Engineering team.
  • Collaborate closely with Materials Engineering staff to support ongoing engineering and development projects.

Qualifications
 
  • Associate’s degree (or higher) in Engineering Technology (electrical, mechanical, or materials emphasis), Chemistry, Applied Physics, or a related discipline with a strong focus on materials.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred. Candidates with more or less experience may be considered for level adjustment.
  • Strong interest in materials applications for power generation equipment—especially rotating electrical machinery such as generators or motors.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a laboratory team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and strong manual/mechanical aptitude.
  • Competence with MS Office and general computer applications.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or off-shift hours to support critical projects in laboratory, office, or factory settings.
  • Forklift and crane operation experience is a plus.
