Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fabrication HSE Advisor to support the execution of subsea projects within an onshore fabrication yard environment located in Tarragona, Spain.
The role will initially support one major project and will subsequently contribute to additional subsea developments throughout 2026 and 2027. The Fabrication HSE Advisor will play a key role in ensuring that all fabrication activities are carried out in full compliance with applicable legislation, project requirements, and company HSE standards.
Reporting to the Project HSE Manager(s) and working closely with the Site Representative, yard management, and subcontractors, the Fabrication HSE Advisor will provide day-to-day HSE support, promote a strong safety culture on site, and contribute to continuous improvement of HSE performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesHSE Leadership & Site Support
- Support the implementation of the Project HSE Plan, safety initiatives, programs, and objectives at the fabrication yard.
- Maintain a strong and visible HSE presence on site, engaging with supervision and workforce to promote proactive safety behaviors.
- Provide competent HSE advice and support to site management, supervision, and operational teams.
- Monitor the effective implementation of project HSE procedures, policies, and safe working practices.
- Liaise with Project HSE teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and updates.
- Develop, adapt, and deploy site-specific HSE instructions, procedures, toolbox talks, and other HSE materials as required.
- Work closely with the fabrication yard HSE team to ensure alignment between yard and project HSE requirements.
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc HSE inspections and safety tours across all fabrication areas, including subcontractor activities.
- Record, report, and follow up on non-conformances, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behaviors to closure.
- Intervene and stop work in case of unsafe practices, immediately informing site and project HSE management.
- Participate in HSSE meetings and support action tracking and close-out.
- Participate in HIRAs and site-specific TRAs/JRAs, ensuring risks related to fabrication activities are adequately identified and controlled, including:
- Welding and cutting
- Lifting and rigging operations
- Working at height
- Confined space activities
- Support line supervision in the preparation and review of SIMOPS-related risk controls where applicable.Meetings, Communication & Training
- Attend and contribute to daily coordination meetings, pre-job meetings, and Toolbox Talks.
- Provide HSE input to kick-off meetings with subcontractors and suppliers as required.
- Support the delivery of HSE inductions, briefings, campaigns, and safety communications at site level.
- Ensure anomalies, near-misses, incidents, and accidents are reported and recorded in the relevant HSE systems.
- Support incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and definition of corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE KPIs related to fabrication activities and contribute to trend analysis and improvement actions.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly HSE reports to the Project HSE Management and Site Representative.
- Use and maintain HSE reporting and action tracking systems.
- Support site-level HSE document control, including procedures, risk assessments, method statements, permits, and inductions.
- Implement and follow up self-verification activities and SUWER (or equivalent) checklists, ensuring findings are addressed and closed.
- Required Experience & QualificationsExperience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Health & Safety roles.
- Strong experience in fabrication yard, industrial or heavy construction environments.
- Experience within Oil & Gas / Subsea / Offshore projects is required.
- Demonstrated hands-on site experience with strong workforce engagement.
- Recognized professional Health & Safety qualification.
- Vocational training or certification in high-risk activities (e.g. working at height, lifting operations, confined spaces).
- Strong field presence and ability to engage at all levels.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Ability to challenge unsafe situations constructively.
- Structured, organized, and rigorous approach to reporting and follow-up.
- Practical, solution-driven mindset focused on risk reduction and continuous improvement.
- High standards regarding ethics, integrity, and safety leadership.
