FPSO Commissioning ICSS & Field Instrumentation Lead

Location: Nantong, China (Resident – FPSO Contractor Yard)

Start Date: Q3 2026
Duration: 12 months, renewable

Job Description We are supporting a major FPSO project for a leading international energy operator and are currently looking for an experienced FPSO Commissioning ICSS & Field Instrumentation Lead to join the project during the construction and commissioning phase.

The position is resident at the FPSO contractor yard in Nantong, China, with involvement across onshore commissioning activities and interfaces with offshore and start‑up teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise ICSS and field instrumentation pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities on FPSO topsides.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with the EPCC contractor, vendors, and discipline leads.
  • Review and validate commissioning documentation, including:
    • Commissioning procedures
    • ICAPS / systems completion databases
    • Punch lists, RFC / RFSU dossiers
    • OTP, FAT, SAT and vendor activities
  • Monitor commissioning readiness and execution to maximize onshore commissioning and minimize offshore activities.
  • Supervise ICSS engineering follow‑up and manage modification requests.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
  • Interface with operations/start‑up teams, class and certification bodies.
  • Provide regular progress reporting to the FPSO Commissioning Management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE rules and best practices throughout all activities.
Profile Required
  • Proven experience in pre‑commissioning and commissioning on major Oil & Gas projects, preferably FPSO.
  • Strong expertise in ICSS, SIS, field instrumentation, metering and analyzers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage commissioning activities on complex, fast‑track projects.
  • Hands‑on leadership with strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Experience in multicultural and international project environments.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a resident site role.
Qualifications
  • Engineering background in Instrumentation, Control Systems or related discipline.
  • English fluent (spoken and written).
  • OPITO / offshore safety training for offshore phase.
  • Willingness to work overseas on a long‑term resident assignment.
