Position Overview: The Sr. I/E Project Control Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and installation of process control systems for plant and pipeline facilities. This role provides technical expertise in instrumentation, electrical systems, and control technologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering safe, reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for process control, instrumentation, and measurement technologies across projects.
  • Lead engineering and design for control system upgrades, including Burner Management Systems and shutdown systems.
  • Develop project scopes, estimates, and technical documentation for process control initiatives.
  • Participate in operational training related to control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards throughout project execution.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in process control system implementation and I&E functions for plant and pipeline facilities.
  • Standards Knowledge: Expert understanding of NFPA-70E, NFPA-87, API-500, ISA, and IEC standards.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory control and safety systems.
    • Electrical and instrumentation design, including relay logic.
    • PLC-based control systems engineering and design.
    • Motor control schematic wiring and functionality.
    • Cable tray and conduit routing design.
  • Preferred Systems: Honeywell C300, Triconex CX, Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Soft Skills: Self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform light work (lift 20 lbs), climb ladders, and perform overhead and bending tasks.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Primary location: Houston, TX (Corporate Office).
    • Travel up to 25% to Enterprise locations.
    • TWIC card required (must hold or obtain promptly).
    • Engineering degree preferred.
Project Task Competency (Must fulfill at least 75%):
  1. Redline P&IDs for control scope.
  2. Mark up/create instrument location plans.
  3. Create/update electrical area classification drawings.
  4. Create/update facility key plans.
  5. Generate instrument data sheets.
  6. Update instrument installation details.
  7. Create cable conduit schedules.
  8. Design cable tray and conduit routing systems.
  9. Develop construction scope documents.
  10. Develop construction plans.
  11. Support loop checks and system startup.
  12. Maintain as-built documentation and project sign-off.
  13. Create and maintain instrument index.
  14. Verify loop drawings.
