Instrument Maintenance Technician III

Role Overview:
The Instrument Maintenance Technician III installs, maintains, tests, and repairs instrumentation and control systems used in production operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports safe operations, and maintains compliance with all applicable standards. The technician evaluates instrument performance, develops repair plans, and documents all findings and corrective actions.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational & Technical Duties
  • Plan, execute, and oversee all work within assigned areas in accordance with laws, regulations, standards, and company procedures, with strong emphasis on safety, health, and environmental protection.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Evaluate instrument issues, determine repair strategies, and document all work performed.
  • Ensure timely and high‑quality completion of tasks scheduled under the Maintenance Program.
  • Provide technical support to fellow technicians for troubleshooting and maintenance of company instrument systems.
  • Review and contribute to control system specifications, standards, and work practices.
  • Serve as backup for the Instrument Lead when required.
Compliance & Work Management
  • Maintain accountability for control systems as defined in the Work Management Manual.
  • Apply and follow Permit to Work System (PTWS) requirements.
  • Generate and support Management of Change (MOC) requests for control‑related equipment and installations, including follow‑up inspections in alignment with OIMS Element 3.
  • Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations to ensure compliance with operational requirements and recommend improvements when needed.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Promote teamwork across operations, engineering, and project groups.
  • Participate in and, when necessary, lead technical meetings to share updates on specifications, codes, procedures, and new technologies.
  • Maintain open communication with colleagues regarding control system issues, safe work practices, training needs, and material requirements.
  • Support work prioritization to enhance efficiency and align with other work groups.
Training & Development
  • Continuously develop personal and team technical skills, staying current with new regulations, equipment, and methods.
  • Meet all safety, administrative, and technical training requirements outlined in the company’s approved training roadmap.

Skills & QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Associate degree required, along with relevant technical certifications.
  • Experience maintaining instrumentation and control systems in a processing plant or offshore production environment.
Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of regulations governing oil and gas facility operations.
  • Familiarity with OIMS systems, manuals, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in computing and digital tools.
  • Meets all competency requirements outlined in the Operations Training Roadmap.
