Job Title: Machinist III (CNC)
Duration: 12 Months (One Year)
Rate: $32 per hour
Schedule:
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Willingness to work Overtime and weekends as required
  • 40 hours/week
Location Pasadena, Texas (On-site)
Role Summary
The Machinist III is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring manual and CNC machining equipment to manufacture metallic and non‑metallic components that meet strict quality, safety, and dimensional requirements. This role supports high‑volume industrial manufacturing in a fast‑paced shop environment and requires strong blueprint reading, machining accuracy, and troubleshooting capability. Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes and mills
  • Machine components using conventional, special‑purpose, and NC/CNC equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, manuals, and specifications
  • Determine machining sequences, setup requirements, dimensions, and tolerances
  • Adjust machine controls to correct issues related to speed, feed, depth of cut, and coolant flow
  • Select, align, and secure cutting tools, fixtures, attachments, and materials
  • Monitor machining operations to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions
  • Perform in‑process inspections and ensure parts meet quality and dimensional standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all safety procedures
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining documentation
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry to machining calculations
  • Experience setting machining parameters (speed, feed, angles, depth of cut)
  • Familiarity with CNC controls for retrieving, editing, and inputting programs
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5-6 years of hands‑on experience operating manual and/or CNC machines (Lathe and/or Mill)
  • Industrial or manufacturing environment experience preferred
