General Description:Troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, replaces and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Performs maintenance on plant equipmenta. Repairs rebuilds and/or replaces plant equipment(e.g., pumps, motors, valves and packing,compressors, gearboxes, centrifuges,furnaces and refrigeration systems)b. Performs preventive maintenancec. Interprets blueprints and drawingsd. Identifies lubrication types, properties and applicationse. Operates standard and precision shop tools and equipmentf. Sets up rigging; prepares and evaluates job siteg. Aligns rotating equipment using laser and dial indicatorsh. Prepares equipment to be sent off sitei. Interacts with operations staff and engineers to diagnoseand resolves upsets due to equipment failuresj. Works with engineers to resolve problems identified by EHMk. Uses vibration readings to evaluate and troubleshootequipment performancel. Install blinds in piping and make up flanged and screwed piping connectionsm. Conducts unit walk-throughs and report findingsto MTS and Maintenance Coordinatorn. Fills out and files in equipment file equipment repair history sheets for pumps, compressors, centrifuges and agitators.
2. Performs administrative duties.a. Reviews trouble log and determines if maintenance is neededb. Records time against work ordersc. Uses SAP to locate and order partsd. Updates equipment history in SAPe. Navigates equipment specification data basesf. Participates in peer performance evaluations
3. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.a. Maintains a clean and well organized work areab. Attends meetings as requiredc. Attends training as requiredd. Uses computer applications such as SAP and MS Officee. Complies with all HSSE programs, policies and proceduresf. Support maintenance plans and proceduresg. Continuous development of technical skills through training and practiceh. Performs special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned
