Job Summary:
The Material Handler will be responsible for transporting parts and materials throughout the facility utilizing a forklift or hand truck in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Move expensive/fragile parts as well as warehouse materials throughout the site.
  • The ability to follow pre-determined routes for material movement.
  • Manage crate and box inventory
  • Deliver and manage scrap parts inventory
  • Visually inspect repaired parts for handling damage and receive them per process
  • Crate and box parts utilizing a foam machine, saw and other tools.
  • Ability to pack/unpack crates, boxes, and pallets
  • Maintain inventory of wooden and plastic pallets as well as various crates; store and stack them neatly,
  • deliver as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of one year experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard
  • Ability to operate a forklift rated for over 15,000 pounds.
  • Able to work outdoors, year-round, in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel)
  • Capability to actively work on multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to be certified in crane and rigging operations.
  • Photos for returned scrap component repair material: 
  • Scope is estimated at 10-15 hours per week
  • Contractor will review component repair yield results against standard work to identify component(s) requiring photos
  • Contractor will partner with Jport OSS team to schedule availability of the material
  • Contractor would stage and photograph material returning from component repair to include photograph of complete part(s) and specific condition(s) resulting in scrap disposition
  • Photos will be tagged per standard work and uploaded to Aero Alliance NSMR tool, picture manager or other sharing location to be made available to GE Vernova or Baker Hughes customer facing team.
Customer Experience Team support: 
  • Support request for material reviews by customers and their affiliates. 
  • Work with the OSS warehouse lead to understand and comply with the location management process
  • Work with the scrap team to identify and find material for scrap reviews
  • Work with G2 or G3 teams to identify and find material for certain inspections and reviews as required, ensuring location management procedures are followed. 
  • Drive forklift to move material to inspection staging area
    Support the inspection for the duration of the review
     

Desired Characteristics:
  • Certified to operate a sit down and stand-up forklift and/or crane and rigging operations.
