Mechanical Engineer (Contract Role) Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 1 year



About the Role This role focuses on overseeing the design of liquid pump station facilities for both new projects and maintenance work. The designs are completed by outside engineering firms, and you will ensure the work meets required standards, stays on schedule, and fits within the project budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure pump station facility designs follow all regulations, industry codes, and internal standards.
  • Define project scope, timelines, and budget for design tasks and materials.
  • Manage and oversee third-party engineering firms completing design work.
  • Review and approve drawings, reports, and material lists.
  • Join design review meetings with project teams to discuss progress and resolve issues.
  • Review equipment vendor quotes and assist in choosing the best technical and cost-effective options.
  • Apply lessons learned from past projects and share new improvements.
  • Support overall department initiatives when needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 4 years of relevant industry experience

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Clear communication skills with both technical and non‑technical teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Working Conditions
  • 80% office work with multiple project teams
  • 20% field work for site visits or supporting construction and commissioning activities
