Overview
The Planning & Scheduling role supports non‑process infrastructure activities at the client’s operation at Cold Lake. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and small project activities across multiple infrastructure systems while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
  • Plan and schedule all trades and service providers for non‑process infrastructure activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize a CMMS‑based preventive maintenance program.
  • Manage ongoing corrective maintenance and small project work scopes.
  • Prepare complete work packages, including job plans, materials, parts, tools, required trades, documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Create and distribute service requests, work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and purchase requisitions.
Infrastructure Oversight
Provide planning and scheduling support for:
  • Site road networks and well pad access
  • Non‑process buildings and facilities
  • Aerodrome operations
  • Waste management, pest control, potable water, and wastewater treatment
  • Fire protection systems, ensuring alignment with applicable fire codes and regulatory requirements
Operational Workflow
  • Receive, prioritize, and coordinate work notifications based on safety, priority, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the full work order lifecycle.
  • Support key performance indicators (KPIs), including planning backlog, ready backlog, capacity utilization, and maintenance cost performance.
  • Provide planning and scheduling support for turnaround and outage events.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
Safety & Compliance
  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Ensure all work complies with site processes, procedures, and standard work practices.
 
Qualifications
Required
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Journeyman Trade Certification with a minimum of 5+ years of industrial experience.
  • 3+ years of planning and scheduling experience.
  • Strong proficiency with CMMS systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred (Assets)
  • Experience with SAP and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Experience with fire protection systems, water/wastewater treatment, and facilities maintenance workflows.
 
Work Environment & Logistics
  • Role is based at the client’s Cold Lake with full‑service camp accommodation.
  • Rotational shift schedule. 7 on 7 off.
  • Transportation provided depending on residence and rotation:
    • Flight hubs: Calgary and Edmonton
    • Bus service: La Corey, AB and Lac La Biche, AB
  • Cold Lake sites are accessible via designated air and bus routes.
