Process Engineer
Location: Rural NSW

About the Role
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join a growing renewable fuels and resource recovery operation in New South Wales. This site-based role supports the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a process plant converting waste-derived feedstocks into renewable fuels and related products.
The Process Engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to optimise plant performance, support upgrades and capital projects, and provide technical input into continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join a growing renewable fuels and resource recovery operation in New South Wales. This site-based role supports the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a process plant converting waste-derived feedstocks into renewable fuels and related products.
The Process Engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to optimise plant performance, support upgrades and capital projects, and provide technical input into continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide process engineering support to plant operations to ensure safe, stable and efficient facility performance.
- Monitor, analyse and optimise process conditions, yields, and energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot plant issues and lead root cause investigations for process upsets.
- Identify and implement process improvements and debottlenecking opportunities.
- Support plant upgrades, brownfield modifications and capital projects from concept through commissioning.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including operating procedures, mass balances and PFDs/P&IDs.
- Work with operations personnel to ensure best practice operational standards.
- Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments and safety reviews.
- Support commissioning, start-ups and plant optimisation activities.
- Liaise with external vendors, contractors and engineering consultants where required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in process engineering within a site-based industrial environment (refining, biofuels, chemical processing, oil & gas, or similar).
- Strong experience supporting plant operations and troubleshooting.
- Experience delivering or supporting plant upgrades, brownfield modifications or capital projects.
- Knowledge of process safety principles and risk management.
- Experience with process simulation, data analysis or process monitoring tools is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with operations teams.
- Practical, hands-on engineering approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to work effectively in a site operations environment.
