PROCUREMENT PLANNER

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Planner with hands-on industrial experience to manage and optimise the procurement of raw materials, components, and services essential for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of industrial supply chains to ensure timely availability of materials, cost efficiency, and operational continuity.
 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement plans aligned with production schedules and inventory requirements.
  • Forecast material requirements based on production plans, historical data, and market trends.
  • Monitor supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with production, inventory, and logistics teams to optimize stock levels and minimize production downtime.
  • Analyse procurement data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate procurement documentation, reports, and metrics for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including shortages, delays, and cost fluctuations.
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong experience of procurement or supply chain experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, inventory management, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial materials, components, and production processes is highly preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive approach to identifying supply chain risks and solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with external vendors.
  • Results-oriented and committed to continuous improvement.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Typically requires an undergraduate degree and broad experience or equivalent. Working Environment Standard Office Environment. May be required to travel and/or have overnight trips.  Hours worked may exceed regular schedule. Physical Effort Little chance of injury. Duties may involve sitting, standing, keyboarding with frequent flexible breaks.
