The Programming & Automation Specialist will design, program, and implement automation systems that improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. Working closely with engineering and production teams, this role supports advanced manufacturing processes, develops automated solutions, and troubleshoots existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new process technologies and automation systems for manufacturing.
Create CAD models, BOMs, and mechanical drawings for automated equipment.
Build LabVIEW programs, PLC ladder logic, and HMI interfaces for process control.
Develop software solutions for data acquisition and analysis using SQL, MS Access, and Python.
Configure industrial communication protocols (Modbus, ASCII Serial, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA).
Work with robotic platforms as part of automation system deployment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
Design tools, dies, and equipment as required.
Update manufacturing and engineering procedures.
Train production personnel on new processes.


Required Skills & Experience

~3 years of experience in programming, automation, mechanical design, or tooling design.
LabVIEW programming (certification a plus).
PLC configuration and ladder logic programming.
Python or similar scripting experience.
SQL and MS Access experience.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols: Modbus, ASCII Serial, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA.
3D/2D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred).
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Operational knowledge of industrial machinery (lathes, mills, presses).
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems and automation equipment.
Knowledge of industrial sensors and actuators.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
