Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Advisor to provide expert support in project controls, planning & scheduling, and project services. This role partners closely with Project Teams and the Project Controls Supervisor, offering technical guidance, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring high-quality project controls execution across multiple mid‑ to large‑scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Controls & Planning Support
- Provide project controls and planning expertise throughout project gates and checkpoints.
- Develop and review schedules, including comparisons to OBO (Operated by Others) operator-prepared schedules.
- Perform ad hoc schedule and progress assessments, verifying schedule bases.
- Participate in PEBRAs (Project Economic and Business Risk Assessment), SCSA workshops, schedule workshops, IPRs, and other cold‑eyes reviews.
- Support Project Teams and Area Supervisors with schedule analysis, progress measurement, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and change management.
- Mentor and support less experienced team members; ensure technical quality of deliverables.
- Assist the Project Controls Supervisor with staffing analysis and workload planning.
- Provide relief coverage for the Project Controls Supervisor during travel or time off.
- Support updates to Project Controls Manuals, tools, and benchmarks.
- Contribute to capturing lessons learned and best practices across projects.
- Assist with implementation and assurance of project controls tools and deliverables.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across Planning & Scheduling personnel and cross‑functional teams.
- Drive and support capital efficiency initiatives across stewarded projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- 3–5 years of Project Controls experience (not required to be a lead).
- Experience supporting mid-size to large projects ($250M – $1B).
- Strong competency in cost control, forecasting, and scheduling fundamentals.
- Prior supervisory or team‐lead experience preferred.
- International project experience a plus.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong influencing, consulting, and mentoring abilities.
- Familiarity with project management best practices and processes.

- Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
- Ability to deliver clear presentations to project leadership.
- Strong analytical and computing skills across project controls systems.
