The Project Controls Coordinator will support project managers and engineering teams by ensuring accurate cost control, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves close collaboration with planners, schedulers, auditors, and field cost analysts to maintain project health and deliver timely, accurate reporting.

Overview
The Project Controls Coordinator will support project managers and engineering teams by ensuring accurate cost control, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves close collaboration with planners, schedulers, auditors, and field cost analysts to maintain project health and deliver timely, accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project Work Breakdown Structures to facilitate cost control and meet accounting standards for asset creation and closeout.
- Provide comprehensive project cost management support, including invoice coding and validation against vendor documentation.
- Prepare monthly cost tools (PCMR reporting), financial reports, and comparative capital cost estimates.
- Document and process project change orders promptly; review weekly project reports for insights and communicate findings to the Project Controls Supervisor.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to build monthly forecasts and analyze spending trends.
- Perform variance analysis and deliver technical project controls support to PMs and senior management.
- Coordinate with field cost analysts for construction cost reporting and maintain alignment with planners/schedulers.
- Support PMO during project health checks and assist auditors during project audits.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of project cost management principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in cost control tools and MS Office Suite; experience with project management software is an asset.
