If you’re a Project Manager with construction experience under your belt, this one’s well worth a look. NES Fircroft is partnering with a major Western Australian organisation operating at the forefront of the power and renewables sector. They’re a big player in keeping WA energised and are heavily invested in the transition toward a cleaner, modernised network.  They are now looking for a capable PM to help deliver some pretty significant distribution projects.

This role is all about taking full end‑to‑end ownership of high‑value works — making sure everything is running to scope, schedule, cost and quality standards, without ever compromising safety. You’ll be leading multidisciplinary teams, engaging with senior stakeholders, coordinating contractors, and keeping the programme moving even when complications come out of nowhere (as they do in construction). There’s a fair bit of schedule analysis involved, digging into delays, spotting root causes, and putting corrections in place before issues balloon.

Strong financial acumen will be key — managing both Capex and Opex, forecasting accurately, tracking performance and addressing variances early. You’ll also be preparing and presenting project status updates to leadership, so clear communication and a bit of presence will take you a long way.

Now, must‑haves:

  • Experience in the construction industry is absolutely essential for this role, given the scale and complexity of the builds involved.
  • Bonus points — and quite a lot of them — if you’ve worked in both construction and the electrical sector.
  • They’re also expecting a solid background in engineering, construction, or project management, backed up by 3–4 years’ project delivery experience plus around five years managing more complex programmes using frameworks like PMBOK or PRINCE2.
  • The ideal person will be calm under pressure, confident negotiating outcomes, and naturally good at influencing and motivating teams.
You’ll be joining a business that’s genuinely people‑focused, with plenty of career progression opportunities and a strong emphasis on work‑life balance. The benefits package is cracking too:

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Option to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave
  • Salary packaging
  • Discounted health insurance & gym membership
  • Award‑winning employee recognition programme
  • 22 weeks paid parental leave
  • Social club, onsite café, end‑of‑trip facilities, and loads more
If you’re keen to be part of WA’s clean‑energy transformation — and fancy a role where your construction and electrical know‑how will actually matter — drop me a line. Happy to run you through the full brief and talk about where this could take your career.
