Project Planner

As a Project Planner, you will have the opportunity to contribute to this. You will develop a professional environment for planning a portfolio of highly technical projects, including building and maintaining a framework for shutdown/turnaround planning.

Our steelmaking process is unique in the Netherlands. This means that our installations have been specifically developed for these production processes. These unique installations are crucial for smooth operations.
At clients internal engineering department, we are responsible for all projects carried out on our site. Our project professionals are challenged to devise technical solutions that contribute to the continued viability of client. Your contribution lies in planning and ensuring the controlled execution of these solutions.

From day one, you will be involved in the setup and professionalization of industrial technical projects. During this year, you will deepen your expertise in developing schedules for complex projects. Examples include shutdown-related and non-shutdown-related modifications, major maintenance, replacement, and/or new construction of technical installations in a complex heavy industrial environment. After the first year, this one-year program also offers the prospect of a permanent position with the client.

Your responsibilities include:

• Creating project schedules and monitoring progress in Primavera
• Gathering information from all stakeholders, such as engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and the management team
• Consulting with senior management, project managers, and other internal clients regarding project progress
• Providing solicited and unsolicited advice on developments and risks within projects and their implications
• Determining which resources are required to successfully complete projects, in consultation with the project team, suppliers, and subcontractors

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree (HBO or WO), preferably in (technical) business administration, civil engineering, or construction management
• At least 5 years of work experience as a planning specialist on projects
• Knowledge of and experience with planning techniques and Primavera is an advantage
• Experience working in a project-based environment within a complex organization, where your communication skills and customer- and results-oriented mindset are clearly demonstrated. You are willing to look beyond the boundaries of your own specialization
• Strong analytical skills, enabling you to thoroughly understand problems by asking the right questions and incorporating the information into the planning in such a way that the project team and stakeholders recognize it, and relationships and risks are clearly visible
• Good command of both Dutch and English to communicate and collaborate with colleagues in the project organization, the plants, and suppliers/subcontractors
